Karen Miranda is the Controller at Farris Electric, Inc. and has been a member of NAWIC for 3 years. She has been working in construction for 26 years.

Why did you join NAWIC?

For the social aspect and I wanted to help put more woman voices into construction.

What is your favorite event with NAWIC?

The Holiday Party, my first year.

What advice do you have for Women who are new in Construction?

Stand your ground, don't let them silence you.

What do you love about working in construction?

I like that I am making a difference in changing the "good old boy's" club into a space where women are seen as equals.

What else do you enjoy doing, outside of Construction?

I am currently a fanatic about exercise, and I am having a great time.
