April is a Senior Manager at Stanford Health Care's Planning Design and Construction department.

April has been with NAWIC since 2019 and has served two years as Secretary and one year as Vice President of the Silicon Valley, CA chapter.

April loves to learn how to do new things and has continued to develop her quilting skills but has given up on gardening.

After growing up in Southern California, Brenda Trejo moved to Northern California in early 2022. Brenda, is a Project Manager / Architectural Designer at Proven Connections Group LLC, she has been creating residential and light commercial designs for over a decade. She was taught by & worked alongside of the famous worldwide estate A.I.A Architect, Ronald G. Firestone. Brenda's career has involved helping others bring their vision of a home to fruition. She specializes in all kinds of designs from empty lots, custom large estate designs, remodels, additions, ADU's, interior designs, custom pool designs, shop drawings, expediting, and much more!

She strives to continue her success in the industry while growing in NAWIC. Brenda initially ran for the Board because the community is one full of great women with great potential, where it's crucial to support one another in an industry that is dominated by men.

In her free time, Brenda enjoys traveling and exploring new restaurants with loved ones and friends. After growing up in Southern California, Brenda Trejo moved to Aptos, California in early 2022. Amy Pacheco

OC McDonald

Amy Pacheco has spent 15 years in the Construction Industry. She started as a Construction Administrator and worked her way to Controller after completing her bachelor’s degree at CSU East Bay. She completed her Masters in Business Administration from San Francisco State University in 2019. She is now the Chief Financial Officer at O.C. McDonald Company, a 118-year-old Plumbing and HVAC business that pioneered the industry in Silicon Valley in the early 20th century.

Amy is a mother of two, and attributes much of her success to the support of her husband of 18 years.

Amy joined NAWIC Chapter 99 in 2021 and looks forward to using her financial management background to help lead the Chapter. She enjoys working on the monthly Newsletter as a creative outlet for graphic design.

Joan Bremer

Rosendin Electric

Joan Bremer is a Vendor Program Manager at Rosendin Electric, one of the largest electrical contractors in the country. She also serves as the Chairperson for the Grant-Making Committee for The Rosendin Foundation. She has been in the construction industry for seven years and has been a volunteer for various organizations throughout the her life.

Joan joined NAWIC in 2021 and this is her first year serving as Secretary for the Chapter along with serving on the National DE&I committee.

Angie Ramos, CIT

Dome Construction

Angie Ramos is the Accounting Manager at De Haro Ramirez Group. She has been in the construction industry for 19 years: 4 years as an Accounting Manager for a concrete subcontractor, 15 years in Estimating Coordination for a large General Contractor.

Angie joined NAWIC in 2018 and have since served two years as treasurer(2020-2021) and one year as Vice President (2022). Her goal in life is to continue to grow and learn and to be able to help others be the best they can be.

Ashley Barnes is a Field Operations Administrator with Bear Electrical Solutions, Inc. Ashley initially joined the company in 2021 as a dispatcher and was shortly promoted to her new role after demonstrating strong organizational and management techniques that she gained from working in personnel services and food and hospitality industries for multiple years.

As Field Operations Administrator, Ashley is responsible for managing Bear’s 24/7/365 field dispatch operations and providing field employee operations support to over 100 field personnel.

As a lifelong South Bay Area native, Ashley enjoys concerts and venturing out to try new restaurants. Ashley joined NAWIC because of her strong belief in women's empowerment, desire for continual self-improvement, and giving back to the community.

Kara Herman

Dome Construction

Kara is an MEP Specialist at Dome Construction, specializing in Life Sciences Construction. She is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years experience in the construction industry.

Kara has participated with NAWIC as a member and in various leadership roles since 2016. She loves learning and connecting with other influential women in construction. She is also an avid ukulele player and songwriter, best known for her song “Hard-Hatted Woman”.

Pam is an outside sales rep for Action Gypsum Supply. She has been in the construction industry on-and-off for 32 years: 14 years as a gypsum manufacturer sales rep, 5 years as a distributor sales rep.

Pam joined NAWIC in 2019 and has served one year as a director (2022) and is currently the chapter secretary and is looking forward to growing, learning and having fun!

Bio

My passion for leadership, problem-solving, and organization naturally led me towards a career path in project management. In my previous position, I was a business development and social media manager for an IT consulting company. I am a project manager for Bell Electrical Supply in Santa Clara, CA, and have been in the electrical distribution industry since 2019.

I aim to transfer my knowledge to other professionals to give back to and strengthen the success of women in the construction industry. I've been an active member of NAWIC since 2021, and I am grateful to serve the Silicon Valley chapter as a member of the Board of Directors for 2022-2023.

Monica Sanchez

With over 17 years of experience, Monica is a strong project manager. Adept at reinforcing technical aspects to successfully manage projects, soft skills to effectively lead projects and people. A key to her success is elevating the importance of projects and organizational strategies whilst maintaining a high standard by making sure effective quality control measures are in place. Monica was a founding Managing Partner at Preferred Connections Group, LLC, starting a consulting/ project management company to assist Home Builders/ Homeowners with their utility connections. Offering peace of mind from application to meter set, PCG provides clients expertise and knowledge of the CPUC/ FPUC/ NESC rules, regulations, and standards. While at PCG, she has created and implemented the training procedures, company policies, Oversees day to day operations and assist in business development.

Monica has her husband’s Frank , her sons Hugo a junior, Ernesto a 6th grader, and her daughter Mela a kindergartener full support to continue to be involved in her community. As the PTA President 21-22 and 22-23 and now Silicon Valley NAWIC Chapter 22-23 Director.

Monica chooses to be a part of NAWIC because it is a great resource to learn about all aspects of the construction industry but most importantly the networking and getting to be a part of elevating other women in the industry. Together we are stronger.

As a Bay Area native, Sarah Thorvund is a dedicated professional with a passion for the construction industry. With five years of experience as a technical coordinator for the Wall and Ceiling Bureau, Sarah has established herself as a valuable asset to the organization. Holding a bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus on human resources, she brings a strategic and people-oriented approach to her work.

Sarah's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in construction is evident through her various initiatives. She spearheaded the establishment of the Women In Construction committee for the Wall and Ceiling Alliance, aiming to introduce youth to the trades and provide opportunities for women in the industry. Additionally, Sarah actively serves as a board member at the National Association of Women in Construction Silicon Valley Chapter (99Nawic), where she contributes to advancing the professional development of women in construction.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Sarah finds solace in the great outdoors. Hiking and traveling are her hobbies, allowing her to explore new landscapes and find inspiration in nature. With her dedication to her work and her enthusiasm for personal growth, Sarah continues to make a positive impact in the construction industry and beyond.
