Member Spotlight - Brenda Trejo

Brenda has been a Member of NAWIC for 1 year and has been working in construction for 15 years. She works at TriCore Panels as a Designer/Estimator.

Why did you join NAWIC?
After growing up in Southern California, I moved to Aptos, California in early 2022. Tricore Panels hired me as their Designer/Estimator. I was new in town so Misha invited me to WIC Week. Immediately I was drawn to the organization, I loved the vibe, the people, the conversations! I knew this was where I belonged so I joined! I knew that by joining I would be able to continue my success in the industry while growing in NAWIC. Then I decided to join the Board because I knew this community is one full of great women with great potential, where it's crucial to support one another in an industry that is dominated by men.

What advice do you have for Women who are new in Construction?
It's great that you have joined the construction world! There are many positions to learn from and grow. If you don't feel sure of the position you have selected you can always reach out to any of us and we will help you and/or guide you to something that better suits you!

What are you most excited about in Construction?
Technology is advancing, making things more exciting! We have gone from hand drawings to computer drawings/2D renderings to 3D and 4D printing, to virtual reality. This means we can design and better transform designs into reality and it improves client communication! Another great reason to join the construction world!
