Esmeralda Mendoza works as an Estimator at De Haro Ramirez Group. She has been a member of NAWIC of 3 years and has worked in construction for 17 years.

Why did you join NAWIC?

I was inspired by the strong women who I met in top positions in construction companies.

What is your favorite memory with NAWIC and why do you continue participating?

My favorite memory was the first NAWIC meeting I was invited to, I felt welcomed and happy to meet members with similar career paths and experiences. I continue to participate as a venue to network and to learn from other members in how we can support other women in construction.

What do you love about working in construction?

I love the rewarding feeling once a project is complete. I think it sets a great example for my daughter when I can show her a project that our team has participated in.

Anything else you would like other members to know about you?

Aside from an interest in construction, I enjoy creative hobbies such as baking, party decorating, and other miscellaneous skills that I've acquired as a mom.
