February 2017 Meeting

Millennials vs. Boomers always a fun topic! Brittni Daley-Grishaev, CBT presented on “Managing Millennials vs Baby Boomers in Today’s Environment”. It was an insightful presentation.  A major takeaway: Although not everyone fits the “typical” age group characteristics, it is useful to consider the age group tendencies when working with them for effective ways to motivate and acknowledge them.

Our blocks kids winner Joseph did an outstanding presentation! The future of construction looks bright!

January 2017 Meeting

Lynn Kirkham presented on “Making a great first impression”.  Some key takeaways: Focus on your presence, the first few seconds after meeting you can make a big difference in whether people view you as trusting, likeable, etc.  She taught us The Wonder Woman Stance – practice this stance to feel more confident and strong.  To change your mindset, ask yourself: What will it take for _________ “ (fill in the blank). We completed with an exercise where we connected with a partner and shared with them who we saw them as. It was a very inspiring, insightful presentation.

Welcome to our newest members, Nancy and Rebecca!

November 2016 Meeting

November's guest presenter Elizabeth Miner presented on “What is in Your Pickle Jar”: A talk about work/life balance.  A major takeaway was work/life balance is a myth.  A more powerful way is to look at your life from the perspective of rocks, pebbles and sand.  “Dump out” your pickle jar and asses what value each area of life should be.  It was a very inspiring, insightful presentation.  Also, welcome to our newest members, Anna and Melissa!
